Our Commitment to Quality: Marketplace Listing Standards
To ensure you find the right part for your vehicle with confidence, Auto Part Search requires all automotive suppliers to follow a strict set of listing standards. When you shop with us, here is what we expect from our sellers:
1. Accurate Fitment & Descriptions
We know that in the auto world, “close enough” doesn’t cut it.
- Compatibility: Suppliers must provide clear information regarding the Year, Make, and Model a part is designed for.
- Part Numbers: Whenever possible, suppliers are expected to include OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cross-reference numbers so you can verify the part matches your vehicle’s requirements.
2. Clear Pricing & Core Charges
- No Hidden Fees: The price you see should be the price you pay.
- Core Charges: For certain parts (like alternators or engines), a “core charge” may apply. Suppliers are required to disclose these charges upfront and provide clear instructions on how to return your old part for a refund.
3. Acceptable Goods & Condition
- Honest Grading: Suppliers must clearly state if a part is Brand New, Remanufactured or Used.
- Quality Images: Listings should feature clear photos so you can see exactly what you are buying. For used or recycled OE parts, suppliers are encouraged to show the actual item, not just a generic stock photo.
4. Prohibited Items
To keep our marketplace safe and legal, we do not allow the sale of:
- Defaced or stolen parts.
- Recalled safety components (such as certain airbags).
- Devices designed to bypass emissions or safety standards.
5. Enforcement & Buyer Protection
We take our listing integrity seriously. Auto Part Search actively monitors supplier behavior to ensure these standards are met.
- Listing Removal: We reserve the right to immediately remove any listing that is misleading, inaccurate or violates our safety policies.
- Supplier Accountability: Suppliers who consistently fail to provide accurate fitment information or honor the 90-day minimum warranty may have their selling privileges suspended or revoked.
Tip for Buyers: Always double-check your vehicle’s VIN or specific trim level against the supplier’s listing before purchasing. If you are unsure, we encourage you to message the supplier directly through our platform to confirm fitment.
